From Jamie's Philippines Pics

We have also had the opportunity to travel to some amazing places in China, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Bali. We have archived all of our travels and living experiences abroad; and if you wish, you can read about our adventures by finding the archives on the right of this page and by checking our Photo Album.

We appreciate all of our family and friends who have stayed in touch and emailed us with encouraging words throughout the year. We hope you will continue to keep us in your thoughts as we continue our adventure of living abroad teaching at an international school. For those who have stumbled upon our site, check out the "About Eric and Jamie" section on the right for more information.

Thanks for checking us out!

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness."
- Mark Twain

"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends."
- Maya Angelou

Viva Tunica!

Jamie and I have spend the last 2 nights in Tunica, Mississippi. For those not aware of Tunica, it is just south of Memphis along the Mississippi River where they have built several casinos. It is like a mini Vegas. We broke even in our attempts to make our millions, and I was able to get in a round of golf. The Horseshoe Casino is really nice with some great deals on weekdays, but they charge for the use of Internet (14.00 for 24 hours). Hint: Go next door to Gold Strike where the Internet is free.

The other pictures above is of the RiverWalk Park that they built in 2004 in Tunica. Nice place. The casino tax money has definately built up what used to be the poorest county in the nation.

The picture in this post was from Rendezvous. It is a restaurant in Memphis that is world famous for this dry rub ribs. Jamie, who is not a rib person, loved the flavor! I've hardly ever met a rib I didn't like. We ordered a full rack each but had to take half of them home.

Next up is Jackson, TN to visit some friends for the weekend.

China countdown is down to 33 days. Yikes!

New features on the site! I've added a polling question on the left as well as a brief biography for Jamie and I. If you keep scrolling, you'll find a slide show of our recent trip to New York. I'll probably change the slide show periodically as I have not found a way to put more than one slide show on there at a time. Keep checking back for more stuff!

We've also officially sold Jamie's car. We'll be traveling to Tunica for a couple of days and to possibly stop by Memphis for some ribs at Rendezvous. Our main purpose is to visit Josh and Kristie Holmes in Jackson. Wish us luck as we hope to win millions.
Everyone needs to check out SKYPE. Jamie and I will using it to communicate with people back home. For those who do not know, SKYPE is a voice and webcam service that will allow free calls from computer to computer internationally and international calls from computer to home/cell phones for only 2 cents per minute. The voice service works great as does the webcam option. You'll need a microphone at the least and the webcam can be nice. Our SKYPE name is simply ericandjamie. You can have a more clever name than that if you want. Check it out at www.skype.com. I'm sure SKYPE does mind the free advertising.

1st Year Anniversary

Jamie and I went to Chattanooga, TN, and stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn. Great place and we highly recommend it to anyone passing through or staying in the city. Here we are at the famous track 29 stop.
